From Oracle1 to Oracle6 there was no release numbering.

Oracle8i Database Release 1: 8.1.5.0 — 8.1.5.1
Oracle8i Database Release 2: 8.1.6.0 — 8.1.6.3
Oracle8i Database Release 3: 8.1.7.0 — 8.1.7.4
Oracle9i Database Release 1: 9.0.1.0 — 9.0.1.5
Oracle9i Database Release 2: 9.2.0.1 — 9.2.0.8
Oracle Database 10g Release 1: 10.1.0.2 — 10.1.0.5

I remember 5.1A, 5.1B (I think), 6.0.27/6.0.28/6.0.33/6.0.36 (although the 27-36 were all actually cumulative patch levels).
Within the 7.x range there were
7.0 (7.0.15, 7.0.16)
7.1
7.2 (7.2.2, 7.2.3)
7.3 (7.3.1 to 7.3.4)
Thank you for the information. I really note it down.
